The blood-type of a person is determined by the kind of antigen, (a type of protein), that is on the surface of the red blood cells. A person that has an A antigen, is blood-type A. A person that has a B antigen, is blood-type B. If the person has both, they are blood-type AB and if they don't have either, then they are blood-type O. Blood-type O is the most common and is followed by A, B and AB. Below is a list of traits associated with the blood types O, A, B, and AB, without considering the Rh factor.
