Sailor Chibi Moon is the daughter of Neo-Queen Serenity and King Endymion (the future daughter from the 30th Century of Sailor Moon and Tuxedo Kamen). She makes her first appearance in Sailormoon R episode #60 (North American episode #54) as Chibi-Usa (North American Name: Rini). Sailor Chibi Moon is a complex character, due to the fact that she moves back and forth through time. She looks to be about the age of 7 or 8 years old, but in the manga, they say she is 900 years old, due to the fact that she goes back into time. She isn't powerful like Sailor Moon or the other Senshi/Scouts, but this is because she is still in training. Her attacks are more of a distraction, instead of doing real damage. But she does the best she can and with more training will one day be like her mother. During her time as a Senshi in training, she transcends to a second level of power which is Super Sailor Chibi Moon. This is not her only transition, she transforms into her royal Princess self in times of great need and when she is captured by the Wiseman, he turns her evil and she is called Black Lady (North American Name: Wicked Lady).

Chibi-usa is sent back in time by Sailor Pluto to find the Maboroshi no Ginzuishou (The Illusion Silver Crystal) and also to be protected by Sailor Moon and the other Senshi/Scouts because in the future Crystal Tokyo is under attack by the Black Moon Family. She uses the Crystal Key that Sailor Pluto gives her to transport herself back through time. The Black Moon Family also follow Chibi-usa back in time to capture her and get the Ginzuishou. Chibi-usa's arrival into the past was not a graceful one, she falls out of the sky landing on Usagi's (North American Name: Serena) head during a special moment with Mamoru (North American Name: Darien). The moment is quite startling for all and Chibi-usa demands the Ginzuishou from Usagi while threating her with a realistic toy gun (Note: this scene was cut out of the North American dub due to censorship). While Chibi-usa stays in the past, she stays with Usagi and her family posing as her cousin and attends Juuban Elementary School in Minato-Ku. This doesn't go over well with Usagi at first, because Chibi-usa uses her Luna-P ball to hypnotize Usagi's family into believing they know her. Also in the beginning they both are not aware that Usagi is Chibi-usa's future mother. Chibi-usa and Usagi don't get along to well at first, perhaps its because they are so much alike. But once Usagi realizes that Chibi-usa is in danger and needs help, she does all she can to protect Chibi-usa and a bond of love does grow between them. The person Chibi-usa is most closest to and trusts is Mamoru/Tuxedo Kamen. Instantly from the beginning, they both feel a connection to each other, but they don't know what it is at first. Chibi-usa feels safe when she is with Mamoru. She also feels safe with Usagi, but she doesn't want to admit it. The close bond that Chibi-usa and Mamoru have with each other drives Usagi crazy, because she doesn't understand what is going on. Chibi-usa also has a close relationship with Sailor Pluto and calls her Puu. Sailor Pluto is kind of like a guardian for Chibi-usa. Later in the series, she becomes really good friends with Hotaru/Sailor Saturn and helps to save her from Mistress 9. In Sailormoon SuperS, Chibi-usa becomes really close to the Pegasus/Helios and in Sailormoon SuperS movie becomes really good friends with Peruru. Chibi-usa comes back to the past to be trained as a Senshi and so she can have a normal childhood and make friends her own age. She is popular in her school and does make many more friends. Several boys asked her out, including the most popular boy in the school. Her best friend in school is Momoko (North American Name: Melissa).

You only get to see small glimpses of Chibi-usa's childhood in the future through flashback scenes. But what we learn is that Chibi-usa's life is not normal like it is for most children. Neo-Queen Serenity and King Endymion love their daugther greatly, and at times do have to be strict with her. Sometimes this is hard for a little girl to understand. In the future, Chibi-usa doesn't have friends her age to play with, so at an early age, she wants to be a grown-up like everyone else and wants to be a lady like her mother, Neo-Queen Serenity. So much so in fact, she takes the Ginzuishou thinking it will make her a lady like her mother and this is when all the trouble starts. Chibi-usa didn't mean to cause harm, she was young and really didn't know better or understand...but when she took the Ginzuishou, it entered into Chibi-usa's body. But to her, it just disappeared, she didn't know where it went. She didn't tell anyone at first because she was too afraid of getting into trouble. Almost immediately afterwards, the Black Moon Family attacked Crystal Tokyo. Without the power of the Ginzuishou to help protect their kingdom, the royal family and the Senshi/Scouts were pretty much helpless and were nearly destroyed. This is when Sailor Pluto sends Chibi-usa back in time.

[Black Lady]

Black Lady (North American name: Wicked Lady) is Chibi-usa's older and dark self. Her first appearance as Black Lady is episode #85 (North American episode #78. During the Sailormoon R series, Chibi-usa is kidnapped by the Wiseman/Death Phantom. He manipulates Chibi-usa's memories, making her think that no one loves her and that she was always alone. Then he filled her with the negative and evil power of the Dark Crystal. This filled Chibi-usa with hatred and anger and made her into an older evil version of herself. Black Lady is very powerful and is merciless in her tasks that she carries out for the Wiseman. She would use the Luna-P ball and the dark powers together for a number of her attacks. One of the reasons Black Lady is so powerful is because hidden within her is the Ginzuishou from the future. But Sailor Moon as Neo-Queen Serenity and Tuxedo Mask as King Endymion were able to release Chibi-usa from the hold of the Wiseman by showing her the truth, that she was loved and cared for. Together, Neo-Queen Serenity and Princess Chibi-usa were able to defeat the Wiseman, save present day Earth and save Crystal Tokyo in the future by using both Ginzuishou from the present day time and the one that Chibi-usa has from the future.

Chibi-usa is cuteness with an attitude. She is very much like Usagi, but Chibi-usa will deny this. They share simular traits like being klutzy, liking to eat, being emotional, whining and so forth. Once Chibi-usa learns that Usagi is her future mother, she has a really hard time accepting this, because her mother, Neo-Queen Serenity is a real lady, regal and more graceful, unlike Usagi. They tend to act more like sisters, instead of mother and daugther. Both of them are always picking and teasing each other, but you can see that they do love each other. Just like Usagi, Chibi-usa is normally a spunky, perky and outgoing kind of kid. She is known for having mood swings too. In the beginning, Chibi-usa was acting bratty and rude, but this was because she was sent to a place she didn't know and was scared. Later as she matures some, she becomes more friendly and shows signs of having a big heart like her mother. There is a bit of Mamoro in Chib-usa as well. At times she can take on a more serious and quiet attitude. She can also be sarcastic and cynical, which Mamoru is known for being once in a while. Almost everyone calls her Chibi-usa, but she doesn't like being call that at first, because its a reminder that she is a little kid. She is also known as 'Small Lady'. Sailor Pluto and Diana (Chibi-usa's cat guardian) are mainly the ones who call her this.

Chibi-usa is known by several different names. She was named after her mother, Usagi. But to keep from getting confused on who is who, they gave her the nickname Chibi-usa. It means 'little rabbit' or 'child rabbit'. In Japanese, chibi means kid or tot. Usa is a shortened version of Usagi. One theory that we have on Chibi-usa's North American name is, her name is also supposed to be the same as Serena, but they give her the nickname of Rini. It might be hard to see the connection between Serena and Rini, but lets look at it. If you were to shorten Serena, you would have Rena. So they took that name and changed it to Rini so it sounded more childlike and cute. The correct spelling is Rini, but you will find that others like to spell her name differently, some of those are: Reenie, Reeny and Renie.

Chibi-usa's Items
[Luna-P Ball] Luna-P Ball -- Luna-P Ball is a magical robotic toy that Chibi-usa brings with her from the future and it was first seen in Sailormoon R, episode #60 (North American episode #54). It's a ball that looks a lot like Luna with an antenna sticking out of the top. The Luna-P Ball serves many functions. Its a toy for Chibi-usa to play with, it protects Chibi-usa, it can be used to communicate with Sailor Pluto and it can create other objects that Chibi-usa might want or need. Chibi-usa continues to use Luna-P Ball through Sailormoon R and Sailormoon S.
[Crystal Key] Crystal Key -- This magical key is given to Chibi-usa by Sailor Pluto so that she can travel back in time and can return back to her own time in the future. The Crystal Key (North American Name: Time Key) is first seen in Sailormoon R. [Forget about the keys to your dad's car...with this key...you can go anywhere....any TIME. *grins*]
[Chibi Moon Compact] Chibi Moon Compact -- This is the magical compact that Chibi-usa uses to transform into Sailor Chibi Moon. It is first seen in Sailormoon S, episode #103.
[Cutie Moon Rod] Cutie Moon Rod -- This is one of Sailor Chibi Moon's first weapons as a Senshi/Scout and was first seen in Sailormoon S, episode #103. She uses the Cutie Moon Rod for her 'Pink Sugar Heart Ache' attack.
[Crisis Moon Compact] Crisis Moon Compact -- Once the Holy Grail was destroyed, Usagi couldn't transform into Super Sailor Moon. But the Pegasus gives Sailor Moon and Sailor Chibi Moon the ability to transform into Super Sailor Moon and Super Sailor Chibi Moon. This is first seen in Sailormoon SuperS.
[Crystal Carillon] Crystal Carillon -- This magical bell was given to Sailor Chibi Moon by the Pegasus. She uses this to call upon the help of the Pegasus so that he will give Super Sailor Moon the power to use her super attack. Its first seen in Sailormoon SuperS.
[Kaleid Moon Scope] Kaleid Moon Scope -- Super Sailor Chibi Moon only used this once and that was in the Sailormoon SuperS movie. She double teamed with Super Sailor Moon using the 'Kaleid Moon Scope', a twin of the one Super Sailor Moon uses, to defeat their enemy using the 'Moon Gorgeous Meditation' attack.

Transformations, Attacks and Powers
SAILORMOON R
Luna-P Henge! (North American Name: Luna ball...Kitty Magic, Luna ball...Kitty Power)
[Chibi-usa and Luna-P Ball] Chibi-usa can create objects she wants or needs by using her Luna-P Ball and shouting, "Luna-P Henge!". It means, 'Luna-P Transform!'. This power is first used in episode #60 (North American episode #54). When Chibi-usa turns into Black Lady, Luna-P turns evil too. The North American phrase that Wicked Lady uses is, "Luna Sphere Kitty Magic!". Chibi-usa used the Luna-P ball through Sailormoon R and Sailormoon S.
Crystal Key
[Chibi-usa Holding Crystal Key] Chibi-usa is given a magical Crystal Key by Sailor Pluto that will transport her through time. She uses this to take her back in time. To activate the key she shouts, "Crystal Key, take me ". You only see her using the key to get back home, when she is shouting, "Crystal Key, take me home!".
Chibi-usa using the power of Ginzuishou
We feel that this attack/power is worth mentioning and seems to be overlooked often. In the future, just before Crystal Tokyo is attacked, Chibi-usa takes the Ginzuishou hoping it will make her more like a lady so she can be like her mother, Neo-Queen Serenity. But when she takes the Ginzuishou, it magically goes into her body. She doesn't realize its there and thinks it disappeared. Whenever Chibi-usa gets very upset or stressed, she'll cry out and a crescent moon appears on her forehead. This activates the power of the Ginzuishou and the power of the crystal is released. But because she is untrain and doesn't know how to use it, also the fact she doesn't even realizes she has it, the power is uncontroled. Most of the time, all this power does is announce her location to the world at large. There is a time that the power of the Ginzuishou causes the gravity to shift making everything and everyone in the general location to float. And another time she uses the power to help save her friend from school, who was under the control of two youmas sent by Esmeraude.
SAILORMOON S
Moon Prism Power, Make Up!
[Moon Prism Power, Make Up!] This transformation was first used in episode #103. Using her magical compact and saying, "Moon Prism Power, Make Up!", will transform Chibi-usa into Sailor Chibi Moon. Even though it's the same words that Sailor Moon used in her first transformation, the transformation sequences are not the same.
Crying/Whining Attack
Both Sailor Moon and Sailor Chibi Moon are able to use this attack and have sometimes used it together. When they are really upset and cry, their wailing is so intense it will distract their enemy.
Double Moon Kick
This attack is used in a joint effort with Sailor Moon and was first used in episode #107.
Pink Sugar Heart Ache!
[Pink Sugar Heart Ache] This attack is used with the 'Cutie Moon Rod' and was first used in episode #103. Sailor Chibi Moon shouts, "Pink Sugar Heart Ache!" and several pink hearts will shoot out of her rod. The only problem is this attack doesn't always work so well. If anything, it serves as a good distraction for the enemy and this allows Sailor Moon to come in with her attack.
SAILORMOON SUPERS
Moon Crisis, Make Up!
[Moon Crisis, Make Up!] This is a transformation that is done together with Sailor Moon and Sailor Chibi Moon and it transforms them into Super Sailor Moon and Super Chibi Moon. The Pegasus gave them this ability.
Twinkle Yell
[Twinkle Yell] Super Sailor Chibi Moon uses her 'Crystal Carillon' to call upon the Pegasus for help. She will say, "Onegai Pegasus..minna no yumeno mamo te!...Twinkle Yell!", which translates into 'Please Pegasus...protect everyone's dreams...Twinkle Yell!" Then the Pegasus will appear and will give Super Sailor Moon the power to perform her 'Moon Gorgeous Meditation' attack.
Moon Gorgeous Meditation
[Moon Gorgeous Meditation] This attack only appears in the Sailormoon SuperS movie. Using a 'Kaleid Moon Scope' that was identical to the one Super Sailor Moon had except for a bit smaller, Super Sailor Chibi Moon and Super Sailor Moon perform this attack together to defeat their enemy.

One of the phrases Sailor Chibi Moon is most known for saying is 'Ai to seigi no sailorfuku bishoujo senshi minarai, Sailorchibimoon!' Mirai no tsuki ni kawatte oshioki yo! The translation for this is 'Love and justice's sailor-suited pretty soldier-in-training, Sailor Chibi Moon! In the name of future moon, I'll teach you!'. However, ususally it gets translated as 'For love and justice, I am the pretty, sailor-suited fighter, Sailor Chibi Moon! In the name of the future Moon, I'll punish you!'
