| Sailormoon is an anime, (Japanese animated moving picture), about a group of 14 year old, female, junior high school student, sailor suited, super heroines. Who, by their actions both in and out of their heroic identities, call attention to the virtues of love, friendship, loyalty, perseverance, and others. The embodiment of these basic human virtues ultimately transcended the original target audience of females aged 8 thru 16, to reach many different people of all ages, worldwide. This anime is based on a manga, (Japanese comic book), created by Takeuchi Naoko. |

| Shortly after it began to appear on Japanese TV, it was a smash hit, gaining nationwide popularity in a very short time. Due to this extreme popularity, the complete run, in Japan, went from March 7, 1992 to February 8, 1997. A little less than five full years. The nation of Japan does not have television 'Seasons' like the US does. However, Sailor Moon, as it was broadcast there, has been divided into several different 'Series', with 52 episodes. (One episode per week, each 'Series' lasting a year.) |
